What is the current policy for testing of
Unbundled Loops and Line Sharing?

• CLECs test from their collocation arrangement or
  mediated MLT access via RETAS (for line sharing)
• Troubles reported by CLEC contain trouble
  condition, recent order history and test results
• CLECs direct Verizon as to Inside or Outside
  dispatch and Verizon takes appropriate action(s)

Future - Test Access Gateway service offering
being developed for wideband testing of
line-shared loops on copper.

Future RT Testing Proposals
What are Potential PARTS Testing Approaches for
Metallic and/or Wideband Testing at RT ?

• Deployment of Wideband Test Access at RT ()
• Utilize EMS capabilities to extract Wideband
  physical layer performance data (non-real time
  results - may not be sufficient ?)
• Develop and deploy new system to extend MLT
  testing to non-Verizon switch terminated loops
  (would require addition of new MLT Test Head in
  central office with interface to MLT and PGTC)
