Senior Conferences
  • We will be conducting senior conferences with
    each senior starting September 15, 2009.
  • Each senior will be given an transcript audit
    that will need to be signed by the
    parent/guardian and returned to the counselor.

    the Spring, and once in the summer.
  • Score results usually return within 4 6 weeks

NOTE
  • If you are making a class outside of Rockdale
    County Public schools (BYU, Faith Academy,
    American School, Georgia Virtual Credit
    Recovery), final grades must be received by RCHS
    no later than May 15, 2009 at 5 pm in order to
    participate in Graduation ceremonies on May 29,
    2009. A student may still graduate but may not be
    allowed to walk. No exceptions will be made.

HOPE Scholarship
  • Funding provided to HOPE scholars varies by type
    of institution.
  • Public Institutions
  • Students attending public institutions receive an
    award for the following
  • Tuition for number of hours enrolled whether
    full-time or part-time
  • HOPE-approved mandatory fees
  • Books allowance of up to 100 per quarter or 150
    per semester
  • Private Institutions
  • Students attending private institutions receive
    the following
  • Full-time students 1500 per semester, 1000 per
    quarter
  • Half-time students 750 per semester, 500 per
    quarter

How to calculate a HOPE GPA
  • The grade for each class is assigned a point
    value. The point values are then added together
    and divided by the total number of classes in
    English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and
    Foreign Language to get the grade point average
    (GPA)

  • B 80-89 3 points
  • C 7579 2 points
  • D 70-74 1 point
  • F lt 70 0 points
  • You will be able to view your HOPE status at
    www.gacollege411.org after Friday, September 12,
    2009.

Recommendations
  • Complete a resume and give it to your counselor
    along with the names and addresses of the schools
    that you are applying to. A template for a resume
    can be found on the school website. Please allow
    at least a 2 week lead time for any
    recommendation letter.
  • If you would like for us to mail your application
    with the recommendation letter, please assemble
    all items being sent to the school in an 8 1/2 x
    11 addressed envelope.
