5That was our way of communicating- Welcome! St.
Josephs College is well known for our
hospitality. We hope you experienced the
invitation to join us both on the outside and the
inside.
6We know you already know this we just like to
talk about it. Everything has an outside and an
inside. The outside part is the observable and
the inside part is the felt or intuited.
7School Values We feel them on the inside and you
can see them on the outside!
8Integrity
Catherine found out over time that what she
observed on the outside was in alignment with
what was happening on the inside.

with a sense of curiosity and questioning on the

18So using your intellect and curiosity you might
be asking these values that are experienced on
the inside and the outside where did they come
from?
19The Dynamic Energy of Love, Unity and
Reconciliation Emerged in 1650 in France
20TMI! Wooh- that was a big picture answer But how
did they get to SJC?
21Oh the SJC answer! Well, its like a recipe.
The previously mentioned dynamic energy was
brought to Brooklyn and all of Long Island by the
Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, New York. It
was then stirred up by the Sisters and the
college community in St. Josephs College
beginning in 1916. And eventually over time with
loving care and lots of cooking. Poof out
popped integrity, intellectual and spiritual
values, social responsibility and service!
22March 19 is St. Josephs Day. This is the day
we celebrate as a college community, tell our
amazing story of the PAST and share how we see
the outside (observable) and the inside (felt,
intuitive) of these dynamic values happening NOW!
23This idea of communicating a value structure that
took centuries to build in a way that is relevant
for YOU- its just a beginning. (We hope it
will grow and develop over the next few years.)
24Not the end of the story. To be continued
