  around.
• There were fewer war injuries because they could
  make longer swords and attack from a greater
  distance.
• Kites were used to send messages, scare soldiers,
  and scope out enemy territory.

• Compared to the Qin dynasty (only 14 years) the
  Han dynasty lasted
• How did the emperor divide up the government?
• How were civil servants chosen in the Han empire?

• Much longer (400 years).
• He had government officials spread throughout the
  empire.
• They were chosen based on ability and knowledge
  rather than social status. Their work was
  evaluated every three years.

  Han Dynasty?

• What medical discovery did the Han make that
  Western science did not make till 1000 years
  later?

• Silk was traded. It was easier because they
  invented a machine to more easily weave the silk
  into fibers.
• It changed the way people communicated because it
  was cheaper and easier to carry.
• The way blood circulates in the body.

• Check roads and canals, make sure there was
  enough grain, at the higher level, they advised
  the emperor.
• Pass the civil servant exam, learn books by
  heart, your social status doesnt matter
• The emperor does not have a harsh ruling style
• You can be demoted if you dont do a good job.
