Lust is the number one challenge for men trying
to live holy lives.

WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT LUST
But I say to you that everyone who looks at a
woman with lustful intent has already committed
adultery with her in his heart. With this
verse, Jesus fires a shot directly into the heart
of all men for all time.

WHAT IS LUST ANYWAY?

• ONE WAY TO DEFINE LUST IS LOOKING WITH INTENT
• It may be intent to act physically on those ideas
• It may be intent to act mentally - stores images
  for later, memorizing the picture that is cast

• SIN CAN ALWAYS BE TRACED BACK TO SELFISHNESS
• Lust is extremely selfish.
• It is mentally taking advantage of someone for
  your own benefit

• MASTURBATION IS A HIGHLY ADDICTIVE ACTIVITY
• It is not part of Gods design for sexuality
• It almost always is based on lusting
• We should not let anything have control over us

• BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT
• Do not be passive in what your eyes encounter
• Man up and take responsibility - dont rely on
  excuses or justification

• STOP PUTTING SEXUAL IMAGERY INTO YOUR HEAD
• Websites (celebrity gossip, swimwear, gaming)
• Movies
• TV
• Magazines
• Locations (beach, gym)

• TAKE LUST SERIOUSLY
• Lust is a sin
• Realize the person you are looking at has an
  identity
• God sees it as important to deal with
• It is not just something that all guys do - it is
  something all guys should try NOT to do

For the fantasy of lust to be pleasing to us,
women must have desires only for us. And so
dozens of times each day, we mentally take
advantage of women.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT

• WE NEED TO SHROUD OURSELVES IN GODS HOLINESS
• Our flesh is weak
• God can give us the strength to overcome
• Guilt and shame should not cripple us - we are
  covered in Christ

• LUST HAS MAJOR CONSEQUENCES - BOTH NOW AND LATER
• Lust becomes a way of life
• It does not go away, which affects marriages
• Your brain stores those images for decades

• STOP BEING PASSIVE IN YOUR FAITH. BE ACTIVE IN
  BATTLING LUST AND KEEPING PURE.
• It takes discipline
• Take every thought captive before God and filter
  through Gods Word
