GOAL 1 Identify and Fulfill the Needs of
Members and Potential Members
  • 1. Quarterly Chapter board meetings will be held
    that address educational activities and
    opportunities.
  • An online membership survey is annually conducted
    in January to assess and seek input regarding the
    needs of our chapters membership, to include
    programs, and educational needs/desires.
  • ASIS members can access peers through an active
    network. The chapter must facilitate and promote
    this.
  • Continue to update our chapter website detailing
    the members benefits from National and the
    Chapter.
  • We have secured the cooperation of the largest
    Security Company in Trinidad and Tobago to allow
    the Chapter to sponsor , at least once a month,
    one of the Internet learning sessions. Both
    members and non members will be invited to these
    sessions.
  • To prepare a questionnaire designed to capture
    the personal ambitions of each member

GOAL 2 Provide Quality Education and Training
  • 1. Training, reference, and educational
    materials are made available electronically to
    chapter members. newsletters, and a chapter
    website. Allowing chapter members access to
    Security training and education if unable to make
    Chapter meetings.
  • CPP Review materials/sessions are provided to
    members to assist in professional certification
  • Development of interlinks with UK University
    acceptance of ASIS certification in university
    modules
  • Continue to provide quality presentations and
    speakers at Chapter meetings
  • This year we are expanding this to include the
    PSP
  • To host at least 3 webinars and a training
    seminar in 2009

GOAL 3 Provide Opportunities for the Exchange
of Ideas and Information
  • Annual Open forum meeting is held allowing for
    open discussion and exchange of ideas between
    members and board. Multiple Public sector
    speakers are invited to present through the
    calendar year to bring awareness and information
    to private sector membership and to allow
    interaction betweens sectors
  • Chapter Secretary will provide meeting minutes in
    a timely manner to keep all members informed
  • Close links developed and further embedded with
    ISACA convergence
  • Continue the work to bridge the gap with the
    public sector, and enhance communication with our
    key partners
  • In 2009 we will be promoting sessions to be
    presented to by CPPs on their respective
    discipline of work
  • To continue our monthly meetings with the Police
    Officer in charge of Community Services in order
    to design a MOU that re-enforces

GOAL 4 Become The Recognized Leader In
Developing And Promulgating Security Standards
And Supporting Guidelines
  • Chapter Board plans on meeting with RVP for
    training and to ensure Chapters vision and plans
    meet and are in line with Region and ASIS
    International goals
  • A member of the Chapter is appointed to develop
    the standards within the country / chapter. This
    person will regularly present and update
  • Communicate changes in procedures, programs, and
    guidelines to all Chapter members
  • We were involved in the development of the Guide
    for Residential Security put out by the Trinidad
    and Tobago Bureau of Standards
  • To continue to work with our National Training
    Agency, Private Security Regulatory Body and
    Bureau of Standards

GOAL 5 Promote Professionalism and Ethical
Conduct
  • Board will host chapter meeting discussing ASIS
    issues including benefits and process for
    obtaining professional certifications and ASIS
    Code
  • ASIS Code of Ethics will be placed on the chapter
    website
  • Code of ethics will be included in at least one
    Chapter committee meeting and discussed at one
    seminar
  • Continue to promote the ASIS Code of Ethics and
    certification programs to all Chapter members
  • To promote ASIS Code of Ethics by requiring all
    members to recite its tenants during our Monthly
    Members Meetings
  • Nominate a candidate for the Criscuoli Award
    before the deadline date

GOAL 6 Promote and Represent the Profession and
ASIS to Key Audiences
  • Chapter is planning on partnering with St.
    Ambrose Univ. to speak with students majoring in
    Criminal Justice and possibly hosting a job fair
    to allow students to speak and interact with
    security professionals
  • Engage with Government Ministers who have an
    interest in Security
  • Continue to promote the Chapters of ASIS
    International through inviting various officials
    and community/ business leaders to our meetings
  • This is an ongoing activity by three of the
    executive members

GOAL 7 Enhance the Effectiveness of ASIS
Volunteer Leadership
  • Multiple volunteers and committees will be used
    for 2008 calendar year. Recognition will be given
    to volunteer leaders during annual holiday
    celebration
  • Chapter Committees/Volunteers are being expanded
    to capture additional volunteer leadership on
    chapter projects
  • Develop new Leaders through sub group committees
    with a view of developing for the main committee
  • Continue to launch a informational and training
    meeting for newly elected officers and anyone
    interested in becoming an officer
  • This is an area we will be focusing on during
    2009. A sub committee will be tasked to develop a
    program to address these requirements. Continue
    to host our Annual Awards Banquet to recognize
    the contribution of volunteer leadership within
    and outside the local chapter

GOAL 8 Assure the Continued Strength of ASIS
  • Chairman will review and track objectives
    outlined in Strategic Plans monthly and board
    will review quarterly, adjustments will be made
    as needed to ensure goals are met
  • Chapter will promote Get-A-Member program
  • Although sheer member numbers are not an
    objective, the Benelux chapter wants to maintain
    its runner-up position in Europe
  • Develop achievable targets with time frames as
    measurable steps towards the set goals. Regular
    reviews, reassessment of targets and goals

  • Each chapter may select one matching scholarship
    winner per year.
  • Must follow minimum selection criteria.
  • If matching scholarship is an ASIS member, will
    double amount from chapter up to 1000 max.
  • Ex 500 Chapter award 1000 Foundation match.
  • Student scholarship is 1 for 1 match, max 500.

    consideration of the RVP Award.
  • Each RVP may grant one 500 scholarship per year.
  • A flat grant from the Foundation, with no chapter

  • To qualify and earn credit, the individual being
    recommended for membership must be a New
    member, that is, someone who has not been a
    member for at least one year or more.
  • The final deadline is November 30, 2009 at 600

    will count toward the 2010 Member-Get-a-Member
    program.
