    purchase in the last 6 months. An increase of 50
    from 1997.
  • 19 of purchasers say they are shopping less in
    stores and 14 use fewer catalogues because of
    the internet.

  • 84 of insurance companies worry that the
    Internet could steal their business.
  • 59 say that it will spur price competition
  • Royal Motor Sales in San Francisco reports a 25
    decrease in profits because of internet informed
    customers.
  • South Pacific Travels also in S.F. reports a
    10-15 decrease in business because of the
    internet
