  • Federalists attack each other Hamilton v Adams.
    Ex. John Adamss Jackasses (aka the US Navy)
  • Jefferson elected with some contest in 1800.
    Aaron Burr was his Vice Pres.
  • Adams was the last Federalist President even
    though many held posts in the government few
    die, none resign. Anti-Federalists quote.
  • The Sedition Act died before Jefferson took
    office and the reversed the Alien Act with the
    naturalization law of 1802.

    Britain and France would give in.

  • Surpluses of cotton, tobacco, grain.

  • Congress repealed it in 1809, and replaced it
    with the Non-Intercourse Act.
  • Madison elected in 1808.

    did nothing. US opened trade with France.

  • Eastern War Hawks wanted to fight the British
    and their Orders of Council.
