James Bond, the most famous spy in the world, was
created by the British writer Ian Fleming in
1953. However, the character only became well
know worldwide due to the film franchise that
started with Dr. No, in 1962. This film featured
James Bond - also known as 007 - in a struggle to
save the day from the (metallic) hands of the
villain that gives the name to the title.

James Bond first appeared during the Cold War,
and the influence of the historical moment could
be easily noticed in films like From Russia with
Love, in which a criminal organisation called
SPECTRE plots to throw the United Kingdom against
the CCCP.

Goldfinger, the third instalment of the series,
is also considered one of the best Bonds of all.
It has been awarded several prizes and some claim
that is just because of it that 007 is such a
powerful brand
