Objective

• This guide provides an introduction to the
  Libraries resources and services. From this
  guide you will learn where to find and how to use
  resources for your research needs as well as
  services provided by the library.
• There are four parts to this guide
• Introduction
• Part 1 Library Catalog
• Part 2 Periodicals List
• Part 3 Databases

General Library Information

• All the information for Library Resources and
  Services can be accessed by clicking on the
  Libraries tab in Pipeline. http//campus.hpu.edu
• To find contact information and links to all of
  the library pages click on HPU Libraries Facts,
  Services, and Contact Information.
• To see the libraries hours of operation click on
  Library Hours Atherton and Meader Libraries.

Library Resources

• Databases
• The selection of databases include indexes of
  journals and other types of periodicals as well
  as statistical information, corporate
  information, e-books, and much more.
• Library Catalog
• Search the catalog to find books in both print
  and electronic format. Access and manage your
  library account here as well.
• Periodicals List
• Find magazines, journals, and newspapers
  alphabetically or by subject. Contains print,
  microform, and online title information including
  location and holdings information as well as
  links to full-text articles and issues.

• Library Guides by Subject
• There are library guides available for selected
  subject areas and style guides (APA and MLA) to
  help organize and format research papers.
• Library Research Tools Tutorials
• Find tutorials on how to search specific
  databases. Special research tools like Citation
  Machine and Assignment Calculator. Access
  Website evaluation tutorials and Research
  tutorials (TILT, PILOT).
• Librarian Subject Specialists
• List of Librarians and the subject areas in which
  they specialize.
• Useful Internet Sites - All Subjects
• A collection of internet website guides arranged
  by subject area and compiled by librarian subject
  specialists. A short description and a direct
  link to the web page are included.

Library Services

• Book Delivery Service
• A service for students that delivers
  books between the downtown and Hawai'i Loa campus
  libraries.
• Interlibrary Loan Document Delivery Services
• Can't find what you need from the HPU Libraries?
  Request materials (books journal articles) from
  other libraries. Turnaround time ranges from two
  to four weeks or less. Pick up materials at
  Meader or Atherton library. Borrowing fees may
  apply.

Library Services

• Military Campus Book Delivery
• Fill out and submit a book delivery request form
  online. The books are delivered to the MCP
  Coordinator's offices.
• PERFAX
• A periodical fax service in which journal
  articles can be copied and faxed to Atherton and
  Meader libraries as well as to MCP Coordinators
  offices.
