Department
2Middle School Awareness
- All students enter middle school with the
potential to continue their education after high
school - Youngsters sometimes make decisions in the early
school years which limit their choices - Planning is important for every student
especially those who arent yet thinking about
college
3Potential Problems
- Limited Options may result from
- poor grades
- poor course planning
4Keep Options Open
- Students who plan have choices
- some may choose NOT to exercise them
- not every student will be thinking about
college - each child deserves the opportunity to
- make that choice
5How a College Decides
- ? Courses taken ? Legacy
- ? Recommendations ? Class rank
- ? Grades ? Activities
- ? Essays ? Major choice
- ? Geography ? Admission Testing
- ? GPA ? Special Skills
- ? Interview ? Ability to pay????
