WINTER TRACK
  • THE WINTER TRACK MEET HAS NOW BEEN MOVED TO
    Monday, 2/19. IT WILL BE A ONE DAY EVENT, WITH
    THE COACHES' MEETING AT 10 AM.

CHANCELLOR HIGHFIELD HOCKEY
  • The Ring Ceremony and Field Hockey Banquet has
    been postponed to Monday, February 19th in the
    Fellowship Hall at Fredericksburg Baptist Church
    1019 Princess Anne Street in downtown
    Fredericksburg. The banquet will begin at 530
    and the sitdown meal will begin at 600 sharp. We
    look forward to celebrating the 2006 State
    Championship Season with you!

BOYS TENNIS
  • Boys Tennis Practice will start next Tuesday
    2/20 after school from 230 to 400. Be prepared
    with your tennis racquet and Tennis Shoes to
    practice and condition. You must have a sports
    physical to practice. See Mrs. Parrish in B208 if
    you have any questions.

Special Olympics Volunteer Opportunity (Football
Players!!!)
  • Special Olympics Volunteer Opportunity
    (Football Players!!!)
  • On March 10, 2007, Area 11 Special Olympics
    Power lifting team will be holding a power
    lifting competition.  This will be held at the
    Sports and Health Club at the Four Mile Fork, in
    Fredericksburg. The competition will begin at
    900 a.m. Volunteers will be needed to help form
    815 a.m. until

  • Coach Mike Canaday is looking for volunteers to
    assist in this competition through the following
    ways
  •  
  •   Spotting
  •   Adding weights
  •   Judging the event
  •  
  • If you can assist Coach Mike Canaday and the
    power lifting team, please contact him through

GIRLS SOFTBALL
  • ATTENTION GIRLS SOFTBALL Tryouts begin Tues.,
    Feb. 20th from 245- 530 pm. Meet at the
    softball field and dress warm. We will be
    outside!! You must have a current VHSL physical
    to try out. See Mrs. Larkin with any questions.

YMCA
  • The YMCA on Butler Road has scheduled 3 high
    school tennis socials starting Saturday, Feb. 10
    from 400-700 p.m. The next two will be on
    Saturday, Feb. 17th and Feb. 24th at the same
    time. The cost of each social is 8.00 per
    player.

    see Mrs. Parrish in B208 or Mrs. Bauer in B217.

  • The VARIETY SHOW tryout will be held on

  • Courthouse Road Elementary is having their
    Spring Fling, Saturday,
  • April 28th from 4-7 PM.  High School Volunteers
    are needed to man the games. If youre interested
    see Glad Coordinator, Ms. Brown in Room B239.

CHEERLEADING
  • Attention all students interested in
    cheerleading next year. Tumbling and stunting
    clinics are being held every Wednesday from
    245-445. Come out and learn some new skills.
    Meet in the main lobby.

JUNIORS
  • The Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is
    sponsoring the National Rural Electric Washington
    Youth Tour. The REC will select 6 Juniors for
    the June 10-14, trip. In addition, REC will
    award a 500 scholarship to one student based
    upon their participation during Youth Tour.
    Selected students will receive an all expenses
    paid trip to Washington, DC to interact with
    their peers from around the country, learn about
    Cooperatives, and meet with their Congressmen and
    Senators. Interested students must see Mrs.
    Bennett in the Career Center for an application
    before March 2007.

  • Every Wednesday 230 to 400 in Mr. Panareses
    Room A-113
  • Any student who needs help passing the English
    SOL Exams should come.

  • Biology SOL tutoring is available every Tuesday
    with me (Ms. Rhodes) in room A216 from 230-530.
    They can come and stay for however long they need
    and any student who needs help passing the
    Biology SOL is welcome!!

WORLD HISTORY SOL TUTORING
  • Attention students World History remediation
    will now be held on Monday and Thursday
    afternoons, from 230 to 400. These sessions are
    for serious students who wish to improve World
    History SOL scores. Please bring your text book
    and any class note that you have. You must have
    a ride home no later than 400. Remediation will
    meet in Room B133. See Mr. Dockery with any
    questions.

  • Classes held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 230 to
    400 in B215 unless otherwise scheduled.

  • Any Student out of school needs to bring a note
    for absence the VERY NEXT DAY on your return to
    school.
  • Someone is in the cafeteria from 715 to 750 to
    accept notes and give admit slips.

CAREER CENTER
  • The Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation is
    accepting applications for the summer 2007
    program. Youth crews consist of about 10 young
    people, ages 14-17 and three college-age or older
    crew supervisors. Each team lives in the park in
    a structured program of work and learning closely
    supervised by professional park staff and
    committed adult volunteers. By day, the crew
    carry out priority park development and
    maintenance projects, and after hours they take
    part in planned environmental education,
    teambuilding, worklife or job readiness training,
    and recreational activities. All meals and
    housing are provided and each youth participant
    receives a 500, program completion stipend. See
    Mrs. Bennett in the Career Center for more
    information or an application. Applications must
    be received by noon, April 13, 2007.

CAREER CENTER
  • The Dept of Defense is again offering a summer
    research experience to selected high school
    students. The George Washington Univ. Science
    and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP) offers
    apprenticeships for high school students
    interested in science and engineering. The
    students are assigned to a participating
    laboratory to pursue scientific experiences with
    a scientist or engineer who serves as mentor to
    the apprentice for eight continuous weeks,
    between June 18, and August 10, 2007. Students
    will be selected on the basis of grades, science
    and mathematics courses taken, scores on national
    standardized tests, hobbies, areas of interest,
    teacher recommendations and personal student
    statement. See Mrs. Bennett for an application.
    Deadline to apply February 28, 2007.

CAREER CENTER
  • The Washington Internship Experience is
    accepting applications for its unique and
    rewarding study seminars in Washington, DC for
    qualified and talented high school students from
    across the country. The program can be taken in 3
    wk or longer segments starting June 17 through
    July 28. While in Washington, participants
    experience college living and dining on the
    campus of Marymount Univ. The Washington
    Internship Experience cost 3,250 plus a 150
    application fee. For more information and an
    application, visit the website at
    www.workshops.org . Interested students should
    apply in a timely fashion.

CAREER CENTER
  • The KUMON Math and Reading Center of
    Fredericksburg is looking for responsible high
    school juniors and seniors, with an interest in
    teaching, for part-time employment or students
    looking for volunteer community service hours
    after school. Students interested in the
    part-time employment positions should have at
    least a B average and excellent Math and
    Reading skills. This is an excellent opportunity
    to get paid while getting experience in the field
    of Education. See Mrs. Bennett in the Career
    Center for contact information.
