Title: Apportioned Giving

1
Apportioned Giving
  • Though we are many, through Christ we are one body

2
United Methodists Are Connected Together In
the Mission of Making Disciples for Jesus Christ
3
We have common beliefs
  • United Methodists believe that each of us is
called to participate in the ministry of Jesus
    Christ.

4
We are guided by scripture
  • Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God,
serve one another with whatever gift each of you
have received. 1 Peter 410, NRSV

5
Why do we give?
  • We believe that
  • giving is an act of thanksgiving and worship.

6
How do we give?
  • We send our missionaries and ourselves into the
world of our communities, our country and into
    other countries . . .

7
WHY?
  • . . . to spread the good news, feed the hungry,
shelter the homeless and help Gods children
    everywhere.

8
How can we best give?
  • TOGETHER
  • --
  • CONNECTED
  • As United Methodists
  • we are members of a CONNECTIONAL CHURCH

9
GIVING IN CONNECTION
  • As we come together each week to celebrate the
gift of Gods love, we do it as a community of
    faith.
  • We literally and figuratively join hands across
our connected congregations to help all of Gods
children when ever and where ever we can.
  • We achieve far, far more than we ever could as
individuals or as a single congregation.

10
We are in Connection Globally
  • WITH
  • more than 42,000 local churches
  • with 9.75 million church members
  • and 2 million preparatory members

11

14
APPORTIONED GIVING is How We Give Together
