3In the story Keepers, Kenyon is faced with an
economic decision. He must decide to spend his
money on a gift for Little Dolly or a baseball
glove for himself. He does not have enough money
for both nor enough time to earn more money.
4Thinking back to Kenyons decision, what was his
opportunity cost?
5After buying himself the baseball glove, Kenyon
decided to make Little Dolly a book of her
stories.
What natural resources would probably be used to
create this book?
6List any human or capital resources that would go
into making a book.
7If a natural disaster came through the United
States and killed many of the trees, how would
that effect the bookmakers?
How would that effect you when you go to the
store to buy a book?
8Many people in the neighborhood heard about
Little Dollys book. Suppose you agreed to help
Kenyon make these books to sell. Nearly everyone
you talk to places an order for a book, and you
cant make them fast enough.
9What impact would that have on the cost of the
book?
10To keep up with the demand, you and Kenyon make
books every evening and on the weekends, so
youll have plenty extra. Before long you have a
rather large book supply, but now few people are
wanting them.
11What will that do to the price of the books?
Explain.
