• Settled on the Plains because of the arrival of

• Plains were grasslands where 60 million buffalo
  roamed.
• The Native Americans adapted their lives to the
  plains using the buffalo, horses and eventually
  guns.

Family Children
I am going to show the information for 30
seconds. When I take it away, write down as many
things as you can remember on your mind map you
will have 30 seconds. Lets see who can remember
the most!

• Some marriages were polygamous but this was not
  very often.
• If they were polygamous, it was usually to look
  after a women who had become a widow.
• Boys trained to hunt and fight
• Girls taught how to perform household tasks
• Women moved camp, made the objects/goods from the
  Buffalo which made them powerful
• Men dealt with warfare and hunting and were
  involved in spiritual decisions
