2Getting Started Log into Blackboard
- Go to http//www.shu.edu
- Click on MyWeb WebMail

6For this particular portfolio you will need to
create a folder titled first-semester writing
portfolio.
Do not change any of the other options that
appear on this screen leave the default
settings checked.
7Select Folder
8Click on Item to add a file
Click Browse to locate the file on your
computer. But first, remember to delete your
name and your teachers name throughout the
document.
9Highlight file that you want to add. You will be
adding two essays and their first drafts, along
with an in-class writing sample and your
self-assessment.
Click Open
10Click Submit to finish uploading file
Do not change any of the other options that
appear on this screen leave the default
settings checked.
11You must repeat the Add Item steps until all
documents required for this portfolio are
uploaded to your My Content space, that is, the
English 1201 essays, the first drafts, the
in-class writing, and your self-assessment. You
wont add the English 1202 essay until next
semester.
12Now that your documents have been added to your
My Content space, it is now time to create your
portfolio.
13To manage your portfolios (view, create new, or
view existing), click on the My Portfolio link
14To create a new portfolio, click on the
Portfolio button

Click Submit
Do not change any of the other options that
appear on this screen leave the default
settings checked.
16Click on Modify Contents to create content for
your portfolio (pages, links, etc.)
17Click on Content to access the files in your
My Content
Type the name of the link
Click Browse it will take you to My Content
18Select the folder.
Click Submit
19Click Submit
20You will see the name of your link here
Click OK
You have now completed the portfolio creation
process.
21Sharing Your Portfolio
- This section will focus on how you can share your
portfolio with your instructor, with the other
instructor who will score you portfolio (ask your
instructor), and with director of basic skills. - It is important that you follow each step
carefully since the options that are available
can sometime be a little confusing!
22Click on My Portfolios
Click on Portfolios
23 Click Modify
Click Share Portfolio. Then click on Share
with External User.
24Click on Share with External Users
25Type jonesedm_at_shu.edu, your professors email
address, and your professors scoring partners
email address. VERY IMPORTANT separate email
addresses with only a comma. Do not type in a
space.
It is VERY important that you select YES
26Copy this link by highlighting it and holding
down the ctrl and C keys on your keyboard at
the same time or clicking Edit then Copy from
the menu on the top of your screen.
27Go to this link to submit your Portfolio for
review http//asset.tltc.shu.edu80/servlets/asse

Login to the survey
28Copy and Paste your Portfolio link here--you
should also have a copy in your email if you
need it.
Enter your name and section number for 2 and 3.
