• ISD have postcode data (Royal Mail)
• ISD have reference files (e.g. GP Practices)
• Find Nearest application
• Full postcode only
• Cant cope with place names etc.

Quick Address Pro

• NHSScotland have licence to use QAS software
• QAS Pro for address lookups
• QAS Nearest for find nearest applications
• SHOW can provide web services to access these

• Dont want QAS rollout every quarter

• Currently simple 5 line address
• Maybe BS7666 in future (more detail)

• By putting a house number, the number of returned
  addresses is reduced.

• A more general search may return more values.

• Locality
• Multiple localities causes problems
• Better integration and interoperability
• Need example code on how to integrate with
  websites

Some caveats

• Services in production, but not all
  production-ready
• Errors not gracefully handled
• Logging and instrumentation
• Schemas not yet fixed
• Versioning and extensibility always a problem
  with XML, so need to get it right early!
• Feedback and pilots welcome!
