  • Submit a model ordinance that is similar to other
    building codes for public safety
  • Propose model ordinance adoption schedule
  • a. All site plans for new construction conform
    before occupancy
  • b. All modifications, building permits and
    occupancy changes comply by second year
  • c. All facilities comply by third year
  • Ask local government agencies to adopt UVD
    Section 15-116, Illegal to Purchase or Sell
    Non-Uniform TCDs
  • Ask local government agencies to adopt states
    list of qualified vendors. Otherwise, ask states
    to develop a program.

MODEL ORDINANCE ADDITIONS
  • Standard Conditions for all plans of development
    remodeling, upgrading, expansion and occupancy
    changes.
  • 1. Fire lanes shall be signed, marked and
    maintained in accordance with section__of the
    Fire Prevention Code. Signs shall be fabricated
    as shown in the (state) Manual of Uniform Traffic
    Control Devices for Streets and Highways. Signs
    and markings shall meet or exceed state/city
    material specifications for traffic control
    devices.
  • 2. Regulation of vehicular and pedestrian
    traffic shall be subject to the requirements as
    shown in the (state) Manual of Uniform Traffic
    Control Devices for Streets and Highways. All
    signs and markings shall be fabricated as shown
    in the (state) Manual of Uniform Traffic Control
    Devices for Streets and Highways.
  • 3. Signs shall meet or exceed the state/city
    material specifications for traffic control
    devices.

  • 4. Handicapped access shall be ADA compliant and
    signed, marked and maintained in accordance with
    (state) Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices
    for Streets and Highways. Signs and markings
    shall meet or exceed the state/city material
    specifications for traffic control devices.
  • 5. Parking spaces shall be marked on the
    pavements surface with a minimum four inch
    traffic lines as shown in the (state) Manual of
    Uniform Traffic control Devices for Streets and
    Highways.
  • 6. Owner shall bear cost of acquisition,
    installation and maintenance of all signs and
    markings on said property.
