- The City of Palm Springs highlighted many issues
affecting the local health care industry through
their Business Visitation Survey. - EDA and EDD staff met with local healthcare
facility and in-home care providers that
participated in the Business Visitation Survey.
This group, the HealthCare Network Group (HCNG)
identified several issues including - The critical need for staff at all levels.
- High Turnover rates.
- Knowledge of job requirements by entrants.
- Certain state requirements.
- Untapped workforce among limited English
speakers.

- The goals of the CTI grant, announced by the
governor, were in-line with the HCNG needs. - CTI is funded with Governors Discretionary
Welfare-to-Work and WIA dollars.

LEP employees. - Transitional program to increase vocabulary and

individual placement. - Ideal for on-site training for incumbent workers.
- Focus on immediate needs for workplace readiness
