16Sacagawea led the Lewis and Clark Expedition with
her gift of physical direction.
17Sacagaweas presence in the Lewis and Clark
Expedition provided reassurance to other Indians
that the explorers intentions were peaceful.
18She helped the expedition by identifying edible
roots and plants for use as food and medicine.
19She guided the travelers along the Shoshoni
trails in the Rockies she remembered from
childhood.
20Sacagawea saved the expeditions vital papers and
supplies when the boat carrying her nearly
capsized in a windstorm.
