About the Reading Place

• The UTSA Reading Place allows education majors to
  tutor children who need extra help with reading
  and writing skills. The UTSA students (tutors)
  are observed, mentored, and monitored by
  University faculty.

• We have provided reading tutoring for hundreds
  of children throughout the community for 8 years
• Evening tutoring sessions

Writing Experiences

• Students transfer their reading strategies into
  their writing. Through the writing process the
  children become authors of their own books. The
  books are presented at the Plazas Celebration.

Roadrunner Reader Family Celebration

• At the end of the semester, parents are invited
  to join us to celebrate their childs
  accomplishments success through the Reading
  Plaza.
