10 Steps To Buying A Home
1 - NEEDS ANALYSIS What do you want your new
home to be? Create a written analysis of your
needs. Be sure to include your time frame and
determine your wants vs. your needs. Share this
with your agent so they can focus on how to best
achieve your goals. 2 - MORTGAGE INFORMATION
Determining what you can afford. Contact a
mortgage company that can tell you what you can
afford, the current rates, explain closing costs,
down payment options and help you with
pre-qualification or pre-approval. 3 - HOME
SEARCH Finding your Dream Start by researching
the neighborhoods that meet your criteria and
then narrow down your search to specific homes in
that area. Driving through these neighborhoods
can also be helpful. 4 - NEIGHBORHOOD
INFORMATION Location, location, location. Create
a written list of both the wants and needs of a
neighborhood. Consider various information such
as schools, taxes, commuting time and population
density. Be sure to share this list with your
realtor. 5 - MAKING AN OFFER Youve Found
It! An offer is based on numerous criteria.
Recent sales of similar homes, conveniences and
perks of the home and neighborhood and what
youre willing to pay.

And Your Agent. After your offer has been
accepted your property will need to be thoroughly

protect your investment. Some of these procedures
may include an appraisal, survey and property
inspection. 8 - PRE-CLOSING PREPARATION Closing
in on the Closing. This is when a professional
real estate agent can help to ensure a quick and
easy closing by coordinating times to sign

and communicating with your lender. 9 - CLOSING

of real estate from one person to another. This
is held at the title companys office, numerous
legal documents are signed and the collection and
disbursements of funds occurs. 10 -
