• We have great communications in place to
  disseminate information to the VEs in the field.
• IT ISNT WORKING WELL?
• How do we know this?
• From the questions we receive at the V Department

E-Auxiliary

• Aux. Comms. Systems rely more and more on
  computers and internet based information.
• Today an Auxiliarist receives few Comms. in the
  form of paper copies through the mail.
• Think back a few years! Inundated with paperno
  more!

THE NATIONAL V DEPARTMENT.

• All staff have a computer with internet
  capability.
• Most have power point and spread sheet
  capabilities
• These are prerequisite.
• We cannot hope to run the Department without
  these capabilities anymore.

IT ISNT WORKING WELL!

• Why not?
• A few SOs and more FSOs do not have computer
  capabilities.
• If they do, they are not checking the national
  web site frequently enough, if at all.
• Information is not being passed down!

IN THE DISTRICTS

• Staff officers at all levels need internet
  capabilities to enable them to do their job.
• So it is prerequisite for staff officers.
• At Flotilla level information can be passed at
  Flotilla meetings and in newsletters.

• Web site is linked with all other sites.
• E.g. Whats New, DC-V Says

• Information will be presented.
• If you knew all thisGREAT!
• If not your chain is broken, lets repair it!

2004 VSC DECALS

• 2004 VSC ordering scheme similar to 2003.
• Flotillas get 100 of 2002 production.
• Divisions get 30 of 2002 production.
• Districts get 30 of 2002 production.

WHO CAN ORDER?

• Flotillas-FC or FSO-MA using 9012.
• Divisions-DCP or SO-VE using 9012.
• Districts-DSO-VE using 9012.
• New VEs in 2004 can get 20 decals per, on
  request.
• If you need more decals-shout up the chain. FSO
  to SO to DSO to ANSC.

HAVE YOU ORDERED YOUR DECALS?

• Order decals as soon as possible.
• Dont get caught in the second rush, in Spring.
• Although they have been available since November
  15 2003, as of early January 350 Flotillas, 66
  Divisions and 4 Districts have not ordered decals.

  offering 10 discount on safety items for taking
  a VSC (pass or fail).
• NO COUPONS NEEDEDNEED TO ONLY SHOW 7012.

VSC MEGAWEEKS

• Megaweeks will now be an annual event.
• Will run from the first Saturday of NSBW through
  4th July.
• For 2004 May 22 2004, through 4th July 2004.
• Lets make it a Flotilla combined operations.

MOU BETWEEN USCGAUX and AMERICAN CANOE ASSOC.

• Signed at NACON 2003.
• Work with ACA to make standards for VSCs on
  canoes and kayaks.
• Presentation for General Public and Beginners to
  paddling.
• Aid for VSCs on paddle boats- mid year.

• VEs should update their VE Manual and pass a
  copy on to a VE who doesnt have a computer.
