directory, sign up will be available. The
directory includes addresses and phone numbers of

Transportation You must send a note to
school if your child will go home a different way
than listed on the transportation form.

Transportation If you have. Elementary
Children Only Drop off and pick up in the back
along the sidewalk Intermediate and Elementary
Children Drop off and pick up in the front,
between the two schools. Please Notice Bus
Riders are dropped off a the end of the covered
sidewalk in the back. No car riders at this
point. All cars must yield to buses, allowing
them right of way.

Morning Routines If weather is permitting,
children will be outside in the fenced area. If
you drop off your child, they are to walk along
the sidewalk through the opening in the fence to
the outside play area. The only children to go
inside the building are students who eat
breakfast. All other children go directly to the
play area. Students may enter the building if it
is raining or too cold. Students may be dropped
off beginning at 730 a.m.

the student out. SRO officers will be monitoring

Classroom Responsibility 1.     Come to class
prepared to work. Bring pencils, paper, books
and all complete assignments to class every
day. 2.     Keep hands feet books and other
objects to your self. 3.     Respect others and
use manners. No fighting, teasing, loud voices,
gum chewing, or other disruptive behavior. 4.    
Listen and follow the directions given by the
teacher or other supervising adults 5.     Walk
in the classroom and halls. 6.     Turn in
homework, reading signatures, and all sign and
return papers ON TIME!

Behavior Management

• A green card means Youre doing great!
• A yellow card means Warning! Pay more attention

• A red card means A note will be sent home for
  parents to read, sign, and return to school.

Reward for Good Behavior Students will earn
money based on the color of their cards and be
able to purchase items in a class store or a
class auction on Fridays. Students will receive
25 at the beginning of each week (5 for each
day). If their cards stay on green or yellow
they keep the money in their bank. If their card
is on orange or red, they lose 5. At the end of
the week, they may use their money to purchase an
item or choose to save it to buy larger
items. Special Reward Gottcha Teacher
immediately rewards a money amount of her choice
for good behavior, helping others, or work skills
observed.

that week. 2nd Nine Weeks write a summary for
each book (at least 1 or 2 sentences), 3rd Nine
Weeks write a summary for each book (at least 3
or 4 sentences), 4th Nine Weeks write a summary
for each book (a full paragraph),

• Open a book to the middle.
• Open up your hand.
• Read a page of the book or two paragraphs for a
  chapter book.
• Put down one finger each time you find a tricky

Spelling Homework Spelling Notebook Assignment
Complete two spelling ring activities. The
students will choose two cards to complete with
their spelling words for that week. Follow the
directions on the cards and complete the
assignment in the spelling notebook. Please
include the date on each page.  Each Friday, a
new set of spelling rings will be sent home for
the next weeks words.

Wanted Mystery Readers I am searching for any
parents, older siblings, grandparents, relatives,
or other special people to surprise your child by
being a Mystery Reader this year in our
classroom.   Fridays at 1110 a.m. or 230 p.m.
Readers are asked to bring a book to read or
read a teacher-chosen book from our classroom
library.

Star Student (Student of the Week)
Recognizes one student a week by displaying
pictures, sharing information, and extra
responsibility in the classroom. Names are drawn
out of a bowl. Student of the Month
Recognizes one student a month for citizenship,
outstanding work habitats, and positive attitude.
Selected by the teacher.
