  • There is a story about a young boy who visited a
    traveling circus with a carnival sideshow.
  • At one of the sideshow tents a barker pitched,
    "For a mere dollar, one of the great truths of
    life will be revealed!"
  • This intrigued the boy, so he forked over his
    dollar and proceeded inside to learn this "Great
    Truth."

  • Do Not Cut Until Everyone Is Out Of Your Blood
    Circle.

  • Close the knife, or give the knife handle first.
  • Wait for the Thank you, before letting go.
  • If you're on the receiving end, say Thank you,
    when handle is firmly grasped.

Lessons The Obvious
  • If you drop your knife, let it fall. Dont
    attempt to catch it.
  • Never run with a knife.
  • Use the right tool for the job.
  • Dont use a knife for prying.
  • It can cause the tip to break, possibly causing
    injury.
  • Use in a well-lit area, so you can see what
    youre doing.

  • Do not use a knife on live electrical items
    like appliances.
  • Never point a knife at anyone.
  • Do not use a locking blade if the lock will not
    lock open. Make sure the lock is working before
    using it.
  • Keep blade closed when not in use.
  • If you get cut, seek first-aid immediately.

  • Large Cuts
  • Direct pressure to stop the bleeding.
  • Keep the wound clean to limit infection.
  • Cover with sterile gauze or cloth.
  • Bind with tape.
  • Supervisor/Manager should be notified.
  • Really serious wounds are an emergency.
  • Quick action, treat for shock, call 911

  • Wash with soap and water.
  • Apply antiseptic.
  • Keep clean with band-aid
  • Rebandage as daily.

  • Don't cut toward yourself, cut away!
  • Only use sharp blades to cut!
  • Blood Circle - Don't cut toward others!
  • Say/wait for a Thank you, during pass.
  • Obvious stuff, like don't run and play catch with
    knives in the dark.
  • First aid for major and minor accidents.
  • Cut away from yourself, don't cut towards
    yourself.
