Summary

• The story is about Squirrels life and how she
  lives alone and homeless for most of her life.
• Squirrel is born in a tiny shed where she lives
  with her brother Bone and her mother.
• After learning how to live on her own she looses
  her mother and brother Bone.
• She finds companionship with a dog named Moon and
  after some time looses her too.
• Spends time around a house where a lady named
  Susan lives that is about Squirrels age.
• Squirrels problems are solved when Susan takes
  her in her home as a pet.

CHARACTERS

• The main character is Squirrel, a stray dog who
  has no home. Her role is to be the main character
  and to be the narrator of the story of her life.
• Bone is Squirrels brother. His role is be
  Squirrels big brother and teach her lessons
  about living and how to live on her own.
• Moon is Squirrels friend for a few years until
  her death. Her role is to be a friend and help
  her through her life with fights for food,
  looking for shelter, and trying to survive.

Connections

• I have gotten in fights before but they were not
  as bad as Squirrel's.
• Squirrel went through a neighborhood and smelled
  familiar smells sometimes I smell familiar smells
  too!
