headphones.

- Two main types of DAPs (Digital Audio Players)
- First mass-produced DAP was created in 1997 by
SaeHan Information Systems
The Diamond Multimedia Rio PMP300 is often
mistaken as being the first DAP because it was
the target of a major lawsuit by the RIAA against
the MP3 player claimed it was promoting illegal
copying of music
8History on the ipod
9The iPod
- Idea behind the iPod started with Tony Fadell.
Fadell wanted to deliver a small hard drive-based
player that was linked with a content delivery
system where users could legally obtain and
download music. Both Real Networks and Phillips
declined his proposal. - He approached Apple, and they were eager to
produce the product. In the span of eight months,
Fadell's team and PortalPlayer (a company that
Apple partnered with to produce the iPod)
dedicated all of their energies to finishing the
iPod.

HARDWARE. - Many of the new devices coming out have
touch-screens that allow the user to easily
navigate the GUI of the device.
