Amalgam Block Set-Up

• Two or more teeth
• One natural tooth
• May have existing one surface restoration(s) on
  occlusal, buccal, and/or lingual surfaces
• May have slight to moderate occlusal and/or
  proximal caries in preparation area (Cl II)
• For preparation and/or restoration
• Other tooth may be natural or Ivorine
• Must have intact approximating surface

Armamentarium

• Personal Protective Equipment
• 2 or more matching teeth for each set-up
• Lab knife
• Slow speed handpiece
• SHP Brownie wheel
• 7/8 carborundum disc on mandrel
• Robinson wheel
• White diamond (polishing)
• 1 piece rope wax

• 2 beavertail burnisher or equivalent
• Bunsen burner lighter
• 1 piece sticky wax
• 1 tongue blade
• 2 small Dixie cups
• Sharpie fine point
• Mixing bowl
• Mixing spatula
• Water
• Yellow (hydrocal) stone (3/4 of Dixie cup)
