• Reducing waiting times. Government should set
  out clear expectations and specifically promote
  approaches that have worked well in reducing
  waiting times
• Government accepts this recommendation in
  principle.
• Government has already commissioned good practice
  guidance in this area. Taking work in this area
  forward will be a priority area for the National
  Support Programme.
• NCSS will support DH DCSF to publish 18 week
  waits guidance

Project Brief

• To state clearly the CAMHS referrals to which the
  existing national 18 Week Referral to Treatment
  Standard applies
• To develop good practice guidance to set out how
  the learning from 18 week pathway development and
  service transformation work can support CAMHS
  commissioners and providers to improve access to
  services for families
• To establish how 18 week CAMHS monitoring can
  link to existing reporting/monitoring of waiting
  times and agree approach for CAMHS
