Inputs
TripmasterXL provides four inputs for remote EPO
switches to be connected. Each input must be
normally open and non-powered. Multiple EPO wall
switches can be wired in parallel to one EPO
input. Wiring the fire panel or other security
systems for emergency power off operation is
simple. A 12VDC power output is available to
those using lighted remote EPO switches.

Inputs
There are two types of input switches that can be
used with the TripmasterXL. They may be mixed on
the input terminals but must all be normally
open. This becomes important when using the
optional Time Delay Relay. Momentary
ContactUsing this type of remote EPO switch will
require that the operator maintain the switch in
the closed position until the time delay closes.
This type of switch is great to prevent
accidental shutdowns when the EPO switch is
pressed by accident. Maintained ContactThis type
of switch is like using the alarm output of a
fire panel. The switch is pressed and maintains
its contact until pressed again. This works
great when the operator wants to press the switch
and leave and let the shutdown time out and
occur.

Outputs
Each Tripmaster XL provides 20 Form C
non-powered relay contacts to control shunt
trips, remote shutdowns and EPOs of virtually any
facility support equipment. That allows you to
use the normally open or closed contacts to
control your equipment.

Options
There are two options available with the
TripmasterXL. Time Delay Relay (TM-TD)When used
the time delay relay allows the remote EPO
switches to make and break without accidentally
shutting down the data center. The TD comes set
for 10 seconds from the factory but can be set in
the field for 1sec to 120 minutes. Battery Backup
(TM-BTY)The battery Backup allows the
TripmasterXL to be the last panel down in a
general power outage. The battery can be added at
any time and is charged by the TMXL power supply.

Operations
Normally the TripmasterXL will be in a steady
state such as the picture to the left. The Power
On LED lit and the Inhibit Switch in the normal
position.

Operations
When one of the remote EPO inputs such as a door
switch or contact from the fire panel makes , the
following sequence starts With Optional Time
Delay RelayWhen any remote EPO closes the time
delay starts.If the EPO contact remains closed
till the time delay times out the TripMasterXL
will lock into a shutdown mode.The EPO On LED
will light at this point. All the EPO relays
will make and shutdown the facility
equipment. Without Optional Time DelayWhen the
EPO contact closes the TripMasterXL will lock
into a shutdown mode.The EPO On LED will light
at this point. All the EPO relays will make and
shutdown the facility equipment. Pressing the EPO
Reset switch will reset all relays to normal and
allow the facility equipment to return to
operation.

Operations
The Inhibit Switch prevents any of the shutdown
outputs from closing and turning off the facility
equipment. This is used to maintain the wiring
or EPO switch lamps without turning off the data
center or facility. The EPO Inhibit On LED will
light when the switch is in the inhibit position.
This is a temporary maintenance operation and
should not be left in this mode.
If the EPO LED is lit and the Inhibit switch is
returned to the normal position, the site will
shutdown.
