Objective

• Identify areas of impact to the USPS and
  customers associated with preparation and entry
  of flats in an FSS environment. Recommend
  approaches to optimize FSS preparation and entry
  to minimize end-to-end costs and fully leverage
  the FSS program.

Status

• Have held three meetings and two conference calls
• One meeting was in conjunction with site visits
  to a PDC and printing plant.

Status

• Have shared and discussed current baseline flat
  mail characteristics
• Have decided to focus on Dulles and Phoenix as
  two FSS locations to model in baseline and future
  environments
• Printers and other customers will provide their
  mailing profiles to these sites based on FSS
  Schemes provided

Status

• Currently exploring one option that we are
  calling an Auto-Ready pallet containing
  non-compensating bundles to one or more FSS
  schemes
• During the last meeting reviewed national and
  Dulles mail characteristics to see the prep
  opportunity that exists for Auto-Ready
• Also initiated the discussion around entry times
  under an FSS operating environment
