The Academic Grants Office
  • The Academic Grants Office at Daemen College, a
    unit within the Office of Academic Affairs,
    advances academic initiatives, faculty research,
    institutional collaborations, and community
    partnerships by helping faculty, staff, and
    administrators obtain external sources of
    funding.
  • The mission of the Office is to facilitate the
    procurement of external support by assisting
    faculty, staff, and administrators with
    identification of private and government funding
    sources and with development of grant and
    contract proposals by documenting and promoting
    the achievements of those who procure grants and
    by facilitating acknowledgement of external
    support.

Role of Academic Grants Office
  • Identify funding sources.
  • Arrange contact/meetings with funding agencies
    and program officers.
  • Assist with all aspects of proposal development.
  • Certify grant proposals for accuracy,
    completeness, and compliance with college and
    federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Circulate grant proposals for internal review.
  • Submit grant proposals.
  • Assist with policy development/procedures
    relating to grants.
  • Assist with press releases relating to grants.

Grant Proposals Tips
  • Check to make sure material is updated
  • Allow time especially with e-grants
  • Dont chase funding
  • Respect all guidelines and deadline
  • Use appropriate language
  • Devote time to budget
  • Devote time to evaluation plan
  • Include cover letter, attachments and contact
    information
