network resources, logon to a PC with - Username (usually first initial last name)

- First time you logon
- You will be forced to change your password
- Strong passwords are enforced
- Minimum of eight (8) characters
- Must include a capital letter number
- Not your name or a word found in dictionary
- Dont compromise your password!
- Passwords must be changed every 90 days
- Password history is in effect

- Always logout at the end of your session or
- Lock your computer
- Press Windows key L
- To log back on, press, Ctrl Alt Del
- All applications will be still running
- CSU and Cal Maritime policies mandate that you
never share your authentication credentials!

- The Z Drive
- Network folder follows you from computer to
computer - Access is restricted to you
- Backed up by Data Center on routine basis
- Save only work-related files to the Z Drive
- Use it for academic purposes only
- Store personal files on your personally-owned
computer, flash drive, CD, etc. - Avoid saving important files on your local
machine (i.e., desktop or hard drives) - We strongly recommend encrypting information on
Flash Drives
