3Click Admin icon - top of screen
Admin is only available for my.uaeu members
whose work / duties involve sending announcement
/ updating resources / groups etc
4In Admin, click Web Applications
5Then Targeted Announcements
- Choose
- Personal - All Students/Faculty/Staff or Groups
/ Depts / Majors / Courses - Or
- Campus - for announcements to the whole
university
6Click New Announcement
7Fill in Title, Text, etc
- Title what people will see first in their
my.uaeu Home page - Announcement the full message you want people
to read - Build Attributes who to send it to (see next
slide) - Delivery method Dates how to send it and when
it should appear / disappear
8Who to send it to? ?
You can send it to RoleAll students, all
faculty, or all employees (3 roles at UAEU in
2007) MajorList of UAEU majors eg all student
staff in Statistics or Philosophy Depts
CourseAll students staff in a dept or single
course Community Groups All members of a group
in the my.uaeu Groups Index
9Adding the recipients
After choosing who to send it to, click the name
of the group to highlight it in BLUE Then click
the right arrow to move that group of people to
the right column If you make a mistake, highlight
it, and click the left arrow to put it
back Simple as that! Then, click OK
10Make sure you got everybody
Then, click OK
11Dont forget sign Name Dept!
Make sure you filled in Title, Announcement,
Attributes Dates And remember to sign the
announcement with your Name / Department, and
Date so people know where it is from
12Check it again
Check its OK. If you see a mistake, make a
fresh new announcement simply delete the old one

announcement as a signature, so people trust the
