• Children ranging in ages from 2 to 15 who have
  mild to severe intellectual and/or physical
  disabilities or are diagnosed with developmental
  disabilities.

WHATIs the Joseph Sams School?

• A school for children with special needs that
  provides intense educational training as well as
  speech and language therapy.

• Fayetteville, Georgia
• The Joseph Sams School follows the
• regular academic school year
• calendar.
• The Joseph Sams School is a private
  non-profit organization that runs on donations
  from individuals, businesses and fundraisers.

WHYDid I pick the Joseph Sams School to do my
Service Learning?

• I felt that these children could teach me
  valuable life lessons. I also wanted to work
  with children with special needs. At the Joseph
  Sams School I had the opportunity to make a
  difference in the lives of children.

The Experience of a Lifetime

• I worked with all the students at the school
  however, I spent most of my time working with
  pre-school special needs students.

I learned a lot about myself when working with
these special students. Volunteering at the
school made me a better person. The work was
both mentally and physically challenging but
worth it. I look forward to helping with these
children in the future. They have impacted my
life and have made me a better person and teacher.
