Technical Rescue Awareness Level Training

• 26 classes have been scheduled
• 20 have been completed to date
• 730 students have attended these 20 classes
• Student pass rate is 96.7
• 350 variances have been given issued
• 250 variances pending

State Certification Process

• Awareness Level
• State is combining all seven into one
• Test is in place
• Operations and Technician Levels
• Rope, Vehicle Machinery, Trench, Structural
  Collapse and Water are completed, meaning there
  is a test and practical in place for each, so no
  variances are available.
• Confined Space is completed and awaiting final
  adoption at the state. (test and practical
  complete)
• Wilderness test being validated and practicals
  being completed. This is the last one to complete.

State Certification Process

• These have all been done to the 2004 edition of
  NFPA 1670
• There is review that has started for the revision
  of NFPA 1670 and any changes will have to be
  looked at and reviewed again in the future.
