1What is a Conference Assistant???
- Conference Assistants (CAs) are on-site liaisons
between the Capstone Conference Center and
conference participants. They serve as the
initial point of contact for any person entering
the residence halls. Each Conference Assistant
reports directly to his/her assigned Conference
Intern, and performs a variety of duties that
assist the summer conference program. They are
responsible for servicing the need of the
conference groups and participants.
2What is a Conference Assistant???
- They are expected to create a friendly and
helpful atmosphere by greeting and receiving
conference guests and other visitors. These
live-in, summer positions will challenge CAs
abilities, and allow development of valuable
skills in communication and organization.
Although weekly schedules will vary, Conference
Assistants will work approximately 40 hours per
week, including 8 hours of front desk work and
are permitted to enroll in one summer course with
prior approval from the Conference Coordinator.
3 Job Expectations
- CAs are expected to live in the residence halls
during the duration of the CA position - CAs must move in and move out of the residence
halls on the designated dates - May 21 Move in
- August 1 Move out
- Although weekly schedules will vary, Conference
Assistants will work approximately 40 hours per
week, including 8 hours of front desk work
4 Job Expectations
- CAs are permitted to enroll in one summer course
per summer session with prior approval from the
Conference Coordinator. The only expectation is
that CAs can not take a class during Maymester
because it conflicts with training - First-year CAs may not hold an outside job.
- CAs must attend the mandatory training sessions
- April 15 Spring Training (7pm in Capstone Campus
Room) - May 24 May 28 Summer Training

6CA Application Process
- Anyone interested in applying to be a Conference
Assistant (CA), should visit the Housing page
online under the Join Our Staff tab and fill
out the CA Application. This applies to new and
returning applicants. - Applicants are required to have two references
submit a form which will be sent to the reference
through email. They are also required to submit a
resume.
7CA Application Process
- Complete Applications are due
February 18, 2010 - Completed Applications include
- Completed online application
- Resume sent via email (instructions for this will
be received once your application has been
received) - 2 Complete Reference Forms
8CA Application Process
- CA Interview Day will be Sunday, February 21
- All new candidates must be in attendance for the
entire duration of the interview day, which is
2pm 6pm - Please arrive early. DO NOT BE LATE.
- Come to the Capstone Campus Room
- Consider this a formal interview, and you should
dress in appropriate interview attire
