Evaluations Overview
  • You have to write 3 evaluations for this unit
    each focusing on a different theme
  • Your plan
  • How you worked
  • The product made
  • You should write a separate report for each
    evaluation rather than trying to do them all
    together.
  • The evaluations together are worth 40 marks you
    need to do them properly to secure your grade.
  • Boundaries (correct Jan 2008)
  • A gt82, B gt72, C gt62, D gt52, E gt43

Evaluation 1 Task E (0-12 Marks)
  • This evaluation focuses on your PLANNING how
    good was your plan and was it effective.
  • MB1 (0-4 Marks)
  • What did you do to create your plan
  • What would you do differently next time
  • MB2 (5-8 Marks)
  • What worked well in the way which you planned
  • What did not go well in the creation of your plan
  • Give some suggestions as how could improve your
    planning on a future project - no link

  • What worked well in the way you planned?
  • What did not go well in the creation of your
    plan?
  • What have you learnt about the process of
    planning?
  • Did you include all necessary stages?
  • Did you give enough detail?
  • Were the timescales adequate?
  • Were tasks planned in the correct order?
  • Did you take account of problems and revise your
    planning accordingly?
  • How would you overcome any weaknesses in your
    planning you have identified?
  • How would this make things better?
  • For MB3 there must be a clear link between the
    weaknesses which you have identified and the
    improvements which can be made.

  • This evaluation focuses on the product you have
    actually made.
  • SSPAG is assessed during this evaluation
  • MB1 (0-5 Marks)
  • How well did your solution meet the user needs
  • Are there any improvements which could be made
  • MB2 (6-10 Marks)
  • How well did your solution meet the user needs
  • Are there any improvements which could be made
  • What worked well
  • What did/ did not meet the users needs

  • How well did your solution meet the users needs?
  • Are there any improvements that could be made?
  • What worked well?
  • What did / did not meet the users needs?
  • What did the user say about your solution?
  • Comments need to be collected from users for MB3
    to be awarded this could be a post
    demonstration questionnaire / interview.
  • Tip from the Principle Examiner
  • Merely gathering feedback from users does not
    mean automatic promotion to mark band 3
    candidates need to address the other criteria
    within the box as well.
