• Landslides triggered by earthquakes

• Ocean plate sub ducted under continental plate
• Volcanic activity

• Looks like endlessly onrushing tide
• Controlled by wind driven waves or swells
• Tsunamis are shallow water waves
• Move 500 miles per hourthe speed of a commercial
  jet plane

• Water stings skin
• May smell of rotten eggs
• Thunderous boom may be heard
• Earthquake may be felt

• They cant be predicted
• Animals can warn you if there is danger

• Lisbon, Portugal killed 1/3 of the population
• Newfoundland tsunami was 7 metres

• All in all, you can see that tsunamis are very
  destructive. In the future we need to be very
  aware of signs of tsunamis. You should have your
  disaster supply kit with you when you hear a
  tsunami warning. Tsunamis are very harmful to
  human beings and to buildings that are in the
  way.
