Status of Homoeopathy in Tamilnadu

• The Homoeopathic system was introduced in
  Tamil Nadu officially in the year 1972. Before
  that some of the Doctors got degree from the
  nearby states and practising Homoeopathy.
• The Registration process of TamilNadu
  Homoeopathy Council Started in 1975. At that
  stage the number of Registrated practioner were
  30.

• The government Homoeopathic Medical College
  and Hospital was started int he year 1975 with
  DHMS Diploma Course at Madras with in take of 22
  students.
• Since the Homoeopathic practioner were very
  merge. They were practioning here and there. And
  the awarness about Homoeopathy also not
  appreciable. The practioner were struggling in
  their practice.

• But, once the Doctors came out from
  Government Homoeopathic Medical College. The
  awareness of Homoeopathy gradually increase among
  the practice. And the Government also creating
  the dispensaries in District Head Quarters
  Hospital, Taluk and Primary health Centres in a
  gradual manner. Now the total dispensaries in the
  State is 45 and at Govt. Homoeopathic Medical
  and Hospital 3 Homoeopathy Doctors are working.

• Now there are nine private Homoeopathy
  Medical Colleges are functioning in the state
  including the deemed University - Vinayaga at
  Salem.
• Most of the Teaching staff and the Principals
  are the product of Govt. Homoeopathy Medical
  College and Hospital.

• Now the private practitioners are practicing
  Homoeopathy every corner of Tamil Nadu and render
  the service to the public through Homoeopathy.

• Most of them are from the Govt. Homoeopathy
  Medical College and Hospital either Directly. Now
  the total no of registered practitioner is
  increase to 2700.

• And now the PG course is to bestarted in a
  short period in Govt. Homoeopathy Medical College
  and Hospital, Tirumangalam.

• And some of the Doctors studied from Govt.
  Homoeopathy Medical College and Hospital are in
  Top level Post all over India. The Director of
  NIH Dr.Eswara Das was the product of Madurai
  Homoeo Medical College and Dr.B.N.Prakash now, is
  the Director of AYUSH in Karnataka was the second
  Batch of Govt. Homoeopathy medical College and
  Hospital, Chennai.

• Now the status of Homoeopathy in Tamil Nadu is
  very much appriciable. And I request the
  Government to start still more Dispensaries in
  Tamil Nadu so that the Benefit of Homoeopathy can
  reach the village peoples.
