Steps to take into Account the Problem
  • OCHA leads the process and starts preparing a
    multi-stakeholders workshop
  • Advocate with RC/HC on the importance of the
    workshop and expected results
  • Set up an agenda with concrete objectives and
    expected outcomes
  • Fix date, define lecturers, facilitators and key
    participants
  • Prepare invitations
  • Organize a workshop logistics costs, venue -
    define roles and responsibilities FOs, ROs, HQs

    HFA5, IP, risks, current forecasting, early
    warning systems in place, CP
  • Risk analysis
  • Indicators Package 5 template
  • Working Groups - focus on 3 main topics -

    Preparedness Plan to be circulated and endorsed
    by participants
  • Present clear roles and responsabilities. Include

The country Disaster Preparedness Plan Chapter
1 Holistic Approaches, Strategies and
Institutional Frameworks The Hyogo Framework for
Action specifically challenges states to foster a
holistic approach to disaster risk reduction
that will promote and support dialogue, exchange
of information and coordination among early
warning, disaster risk reduction, disaster
response, development and other relevant agencies
and institutions at all levels. 1.1. Holistic
Approaches and Preparedness Expected Outcome
Realistic and measurable objectives, outputs, and
activities to strengthen and maintain disaster
preparedness capabilities are an integral
component of a holistic national disaster risk
reduction strategy.
