Background

• Over the past 20 years, Claremorris has being
  transforming itself in an environmentally
  sustainable manner, while at the same time
  growing rapidly to compete in the modern service
  economy.
• A partnership of community organisations working
  with local government and government departments.
  
• Obvious examples of this co-ordinated approach is
  the OPW Decentralisation to Claremorris, which
  has commenced, the Western Rail Corridor,
  currently being re-built, the development of a
  Sports Campus at the Showgrounds and the
  regeneration of Clare Lake

The Green Mile Creating Awareness of our towns
Sustainable Environment. The Green Mile Starts
at Clare Lake and continues one mile to the top
of Knock road . The towns streets are
represented as the trees branches.

Environment

• No Heavy Pollutant Industry
• McMahon Park Trust
• regenerated Clare Lake from a dumping
  ground in the 70s to what is today a superb
  Recreational Amenity
• Mayo County Council invested in the adjacent
  Childrens Playground

Public Transport

• The rebuilding of the WRC adding to the existing
  services will provide Claremorris with unique
  public transport connectivity
• Rail connecting Galway, Ballina, Westport, Sligo
• Castlebar and Dublin
• Ireland West Airport

Sports Campus

• The Racecourse Trust has donated 30
• acres to the local GAA, Athletics and
• Soccer Clubs to develop a Sports Campus
• Selected as the location for the Regional
• Athletics Training Facility for Connaught by the
  Athletics Association of Ireland.
