Genesis 8.1

• "But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals
  and all the domestic animals that were with him
  in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the
  earth, and the waters subsided. . . ."

• Gen 6.5 "Yahweh saw that the wickedness of
  humankind was great in the earth, and that every
  inclination of the thoughts of their hearts was
  only evil continually."

  ways, beginning with their thoughts were "only"
  evil.

• The word "sorry" invokes the image of God who has
  given "freewill" to humankind only to find that
  humans have betrayed God's own trust in them. The
  "grieving" shows that God is not a cold and
  calculating God, but one who feels the pain of
  human sin.
