Clap the Parts
In Clap the Parts, students say the name of a
picture and clap the number of parts (syllables)
they hear. Level 1 (Use Workmat for Level 1)
Students clap the parts and sort picture cards
onto the correct workmats, 1 clap or 2 claps.
Level 2 (Use Worksheet for Level 2) Students
draw the pictures in the correct column. (Make
copies for students) Level 3 (Use Worksheet for
Level 3) Students draw the pictures and write the
number of claps (this could include 3 or 4
syllable picture cards.) You can use the picture
cards that come with the reading series or other
pictures.
