- Over the past 20 years the educational needs of
students have drastically changed, but high
schools have not. We are trying to put square
pegs into round holes, it is just not working for
all students. - The time has come for establishing alternative
academic models to help students become more
successful. The Iredell-Statesville School
District, is known for its high quality education
and superb teaching staff, it is pleased to offer
another component to its already strong
curriculum

- A student needs to be a self-starter with a
strong sense of direction and the ability to set
goals and follow through, who can work
independently, stay on task and maintain a
regular schedule of logging on and keeping up
with the readings, assignments, homework and
other expectations. - Student must complete survey

- Student must have experience using a web browser
and connecting to the Internet, including browser
plug-ins (PDF, QuickTime, Real Audio) - Student must have familiarity with email and
discussion boards - Student must understand how to save and retrieve
files from local storage media - Student must have ability to conduct research
online - Student must have knowledge of word processing
software including thesaurus, spell check - Student must be willing to take an active role in
their learning.

14Credit and Grades
- All courses are state approved and will be
applied as earned credit once the course is
satisfactorily completed. - All courses require exams as well as EOCs.
- Courses and Grades will be listed through NC WISE
Report Card System.

- Schools will schedule the lab at each site to
accommodate the students who are enrolled in
online courses - Access before and after school at Mulberry School
