help no matter how large or small. Sign up for
any position or just jump in and help on
committees and at regattas. Volunteers have more
fun and meet more people! ?
7- Position Details
- Logistics Make out-of-town travel arrangements
for team including lodging, group meals if
needed, vans/buses if needed, maps, travel
information, and collection of trip fees. - Recruiting Recruit new members to build or
maintain membership at sufficient levels to meet
goals set by Board of directors 1 - 2 student
members may be included per season. - Learn to Row Coordinate and promote Learn to
Row Program to introduce kids to rowing. Run
three 1-week summer sessions (June, July and
August). Promote to City of Columbus Rec Parks
Dept. - 1st VP. - Equipment Head Coach shall be a member of this
comm monitor and arrange for the proper
maintenance and repair of equipment owned by DC
(coord. w/ Fin. Comm.). Arrange for equipment
transport to/from out-of-town events. - Food (Regattas) Develop menus, shop, prepare
and cook food at the regattas for rowers and
their families. Monitor maintenance and repair
of equipment (coord. w/ Fin. Comm.). All rowers
are periodically responsible for bringing items
as assigned (fruit, water, snacks, etc.) - Tow Food Trailer self-explanatory.
- Chaperone(s) Responsible for oversight of
rowers away from the regatta side during all out
of town regattas. Includes the assignment of
crew rooms in coordination with Logistics Comm.
Chaperone shall inform Discipline Comm. of any
unresolved issues. - Boatyard Operations Comprised of not less than
three adult members who represent DC's interests
in the mgmt, maintenance, use and operation of
the Griggs Boatyard owned with Upper Arlington
Crew (undivided 1/2 interest). (See By-laws for
additional information.) - Merchandise Coordinates all orders for
merchandise, novice t-shirts, unis, varsity
jackets, etc. - Spring Banquet Organize details related to
annual Spring banquet - date, location, agenda,
speakers, food/bev, etc. - Fundraising Organize events that all members
can participate to raise money credited to dues
or other needs 1-3 student members may be on
this committee each season. See By-laws for
additional information. - Team Photos Take photos of various team
competitions, events, dinners, etc. and submit to
Secretary and/or Web Team for use on website,
etc. - Community Service Coordinate volunteers and
equipment needed (rowers, parents, etc.) to
remove honeysuckle along river at Griggs
Reservoir Required as part of our Lease with
City of Columbus. - Regatta Ads Coordinate rower/parent sales of
advertising spots in Regatta program. Split
funds 50/50 between rowers accounts and club.
8- Volunteer Positions Speakmon Regatta (sponsored
by GCRA)
Training required for some positions.
Dublin Crew must provide volunteers to staff
these positions. GCRA (Greater Cols. Rowing
Assoc.) allows Dublin Crew to pay for its entry
fee through providing volunteers this saves the
club XXXX. This event cannot be run without the
support of volunteers.
9- Fundraising Kim Shilling
- Kroger Cards
- Use your Kroger card when grocery shopping and a
percentage of the money you load on your card
goes directly to your athletes account to offset
future fees. Good year round. - You get 100 of the monthly rebate you earn on
all cards linked to you (the club keeps 0).
This amount can be used for purchasing
merchandise, paying registration fees, etc. - Cards are free great to give to family and
friends to help your rower - Max Ermas Eat Out and Help Our Club! 20 of
proceeds go to Dublin Crew. Dates to be
announced. - Corporate donations accepted as well

13- Learn to Row Program
- In conjunction with Columbus Rec Parks, Greater
Columbus Rowing Assoc. (GCRA) and Ohio State,
Dublin Crew coordinates three week-long summer
youth rowing sessions. - Columbus Rec Parks markets LTR via its
facilities and class offerings - GCRA supports Dublin Crew with LTR program as
needed - Ohio State supports Dublin Crew (extra
coaches/equipment, if needed) - Dublin Crew Coaches, boats, work from DC
boathouse at Griggs - Our use of Griggs Reservoir (lease) requires that
we run this program. - Great recruiting opportunity for regular season
- Promotes Crew to a wide audience of high school
students - Allows students to learn about rowing without a
big commitment - 60 / session

it is each familys responsibility to make its

without parents - Each family must get its rower(s) to the regatta
site by the assigned time to help rig the boats,
otherwise please consider carpooling with someone
else. - Please make sure rowers have money for meals
(outside of regatta) and incidentals
