Growth and Development of Child
  • Baby has eyes that are open, but no eyelids.
  • The Ears are also developed.
  • Bones begin to set.
  • External genitalia begin to differentiate
  • The Baby lose their tail.
  • Head is one half of the size of the body.
  • All the major organs are developed.

Growth and Development of Child
  • Weighs about 14 grams
  • About 3 and one half inches long
  • Can open and close its mouth and fists
  • The circulatory and urinary systems are working.

Survival Rate
  • There is no chance of survival this early.

Tests of Month 3
  • You will have to give a urine sample to check for
    infections.
  • Blood pressure taken at every visit.
  • A CVS, or chorionic villus sampling, tests for
    genetic defects like Down Syndrome, Cystic
    fibrosis, etc.

Physical and Mental Changes in the Mother
  • During week 11 nausea, or morning sickness, will
    ease. Will be completely gone by week 13.
  • Hormonal changes make yours gums prone to
    bleeding.
  • Back Ache.
  • By week 12 you will have more energy and extreme
    fatigue will ease.
  • Abdomen will expand.
  • Rate of miscarriage decrease.
  • Will gain 1-2 lbs.

  • Some cravings start.
  • Can except constipation, headaches, and disturbed
    sleep.

  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Fainting Spells
  • Severe nausea and vomiting
  • Chills or fevers over 100 degrees
  • A miscarriage is still a risk

Quick Facts
  • About one cup of amniotic fluid surrounds the
    baby.
  • Your baby has reflex movements allowing the baby
    to form a fist and bend the elbow.
  • The heart beat is 120-160 beats a minute.
  • The baby is still too tiny for you to feel it
    move.
  • The head can be held up.
