Title: DARS to DARwin Conversion
1DARS to DARwin Conversion
2DARS to DARwin Conversion
- The DARwin conversion is the first step in the
interfacing of DARS to Oasis (PeopleSoft). - The first phase of the conversion was the
implementation of Student Interactive Audit in
Fall 2005. - The final phase of the DARwin conversion had been
scheduled originally for June 2006 to have the
least impact on DARS users. - Conversion was postponed while the Oasis project
team decided how DARwin would fit into the Oasis
implementation plan.
3DARS to DARwin Conversion (cont.)
- Flipping the switch over the weekend of
September 16-17, 2006. - DARS (mainframe) will be unavailable for all
functions except running and viewing audits from
Sept. 14 through Sept. 17. - Batches should be requested by Sept 13. After
conversion, batches will be delayed for awhile.
You will be able to request batches before Fall
graduation.
4DARS to DARwin Conversion (cont.)
- On Monday, Sept. 18, all users will access DARwin
through DARSweb. - Current DARS users will have their security
transferred to DARwin/DARSweb.
5Access to DARwin/DARSweb
- New users will no longer need to submit Request
for Computer Access form to Computer Accounts. - New forms will be available soon for applying for
access to Oasis. DARSweb will be included on
this form. - Will be an interim process for requesting access.
See http//uc.asu.edu/dars for information soon.
6Changes with DARwin
- DARwin will be the System of Record for transfer
courses. - No more locking of transfer courses for use in
exceptions. - Marking of upper division on transfer courses
will be handled by exception. - Course designation (e.g. GEN CRD, DEC) cannot be
changed.
7Changes with DARwin and SIS
- DARwin will post back transfer course
equivalencies to the AD40/45 in SIS. - Any equivalency which has been manually changed
in SIS will be overwritten if a new transcript
comes in for the student. - If an equivalency is manually entered where none
existed, the entry will not be overwritten. - Courses will no longer re-articulate every time
an audit is run.
8Changes with DARwin and Oasis
- DARwin will post back transfer course
equivalencies to Oasis beginning with Oasis
Admissions go-live on October 23. - No manual posting of equivalencies into Oasis.
(No AD40/45 screen equivalent in Oasis.)
9Printing from DARSweb
- Networked printers will no longer be required.
- Printing will be done through web browser.
- Can close any section you do not want to print
(except for title and completion status). - Currently, will only print single column audit.
- If using Internet Explorer, under Printer and
Preferences select Finishing and check box
Print on Both Sides. (Other browsers have
similar printing options.) - Will have two-column landscape audit in pdf
format available soon.
