The ram pump

• Basic principle
• water is dropped down a certain height,
  increasing its kinetic energy when this water is
  suddenly stopped at the bottom, its energy is
  diverted upwards into an output several times
  taller than the drop
• Advantages
• no power source other than the input water, only
  two moving parts
