The energy summation algorithm produces unsigned
sums of ET, EX and EY and uses the system-level
sums of these to report on Total and Vector ET
thresholds to the CPT.

My personal guess
As long as the life time is small enough to
allows energy deposition in the trigger towers
ATLAS Trigger Cal 1 can do it !
